Káin
Káin formed in 2007 and are the latest band of one of the
most important personalities of Visual Kei, Yukiya Fujita.
Formerly an artist of major record
label, Toshiba EMI, back in the
times of D≒SIRE [1993 – 1998], Yukiya has a long musical history, both as a musician and as
a producer for bands like Dir en Grey, Waive, Shelly Trip Realize, Pleur and others. He is the founder and maintainer of Kreis record
label [1996 - 2007] and Kranze
record label [2007- presently]
Ęáin were born from the ashes of JILS [1999 - 2007] and their
music as well as their image, is covered in black. Their first album, “Paradiselost” came out in November 2007. They represent one
of the darker, more mature and intellectual aspects of Visual Kei, with sweet,
melancholic guitar melodies and smooth, velvety vocals. Their sound brings back
memories of the golden era of Britpop and the nostalgia of the British rock
scene of the late 80s.
Ęáin’ s most recent release is a DVD, titled “The Day”,
featuring footage from their concert in Akasaka
Blitz, on May 2008.
After a period of silence, the band
resumed activities on Valentine’s Day 2010, with a concert titled “Flyin’ without my silvery wings again”. Yukiya announced
that the band’s concert on May 2nd, will be
the last with the current lineup. Despite that, Ęáin will continue as band.
Ichiro, who also participated in JILS together
with Yukiya,
is the former guitarist and main
composer of the popular Matina record label, oldschool Visual Kei band “DAS:VASSER”. He also has a solo
project called ROOMNUMBER,
experimenting with more electronic sounds.
Ęáin’ s out-worldly,
dark light, hypnotizes the senses in a heart-warming embrace and soothes the
soul with its dream weaving lullabies…
